• Truck rental specialist the Wil!hire Group, rescued from receivership by Willcliffe Holdings last October (CM 25-31 October 1990), says it is poised for expansion again, despite reducing its fleet from 1,100 to 750 vehicles.
-We are looking at good opportunities in two specific locations," says operations director Mike King, and we are considering others.' If these materialise, King believes the Suffolk-based company could eventually return to its former fleet strength.
The company claims its strong customer base has aided its recovery, although it still suffers a downturn in trade from small builders and in the private house removals market — traditionally reliable sources of van hire. -Both these areas are flat on their feet," says King.
