COUN. J. JOYCE has been appointed a Licensing Authority for the Northern Area.
MR. ROLAND T SMITH, a director of the Pye Group and a Council member of th.: 1.R.1 .E., is tecovering well from a serious operation.
MR C. L. CRIPPS has been appointed works manager (safety glass) at the Willesden factory of the Triplex Safety Glass Co, Ltd.
MR. WALTER BRYAN, Chief engineer of Simms Motor Units, Ltd., has retired after 43 years' service. He will. continue.as a director of the company.
MR. ISAAC BAKER, who has been district traffic superintendent at Peterborough for the Eastern Counties Omnibus Co.. Ltd. since 1931, is due to retire at the end of January after 43 years' service. He will be succeeded by Ma. ALAN STOLLERY.
Ma. GEORGE LIVESEY has received a presentation from the Anglo-American' Oil Co. Ltd., to mark the comptetion of 50 years' service with the company. In 1921 he became circuit manager at: Salford, and since 1939 he has been seconded to the Petroleum Board, MR., LEONARD SINCLAIR, marketing director, made the presentation.
MR. K. G. BOUCKLEY, A.M.Inst.T.. has been appointed managing director. of Transport Economy, Ltd. He has been associated with the company for many years and joined the board in 1937. MR. H. E. MaaRrrr, A.M.1.T.A., who joined the company some 18 months ago, has been confirmed in his appointment as general manager.
MR, HARRY FRANCE, of Freicheville Garage, Ltd., Sheffield, has been elected to the chairmanship of the Yorkshire Division of the Motor Agents' Association. He succeeds MR. W. H. MARSDEN. In the vice-chairmanship, Mr. France is followed by MR. C. D. LOCKEY, of Messrs. Withernsea Service Depots, Withernsea.
