POLICE ARE APPEALING for witnesses after a French truck driver was assaulted and hit over the head with a wheel wrench in Wigan. The attack happened at 2.30pm on 14 February in Worthington Way, Marus Bridge.
The victim was asleep in his cab in the car park when he was woken by another man knocking on the window. An argument occurred between the two men. following which the driver was assaulted. The offender then left the scene.
The victim was taken to the Wigan Royal Infirmary where he received a number of stitches. Contact: CID at Leigh on 0161 856 7295
