Leyland Daf's former garage and workshop at the motor industry's Nuneaton proving ground have been put up for sale by the receiver.
The leasehold facilities at the Motor Industry Research Association centre were used mainly by Leyland and Renault engineers on the ill-fated joint venture to develop the Excel range of vans. This was disbanded in the wake of the receivership and the work transferred to France.
A minimum price of £75,000 has been put on the 30-year lease for the workshop, which has 378m2 of space, six upand-over doors, and twostorey offices attached. No minimum has been set for the 80m2 garage which has a large inspection pit, soy Birmingham surveyor James & lister Lea.
