Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

PATENT No. 854,472 (Dempster Brothers, Inc., Knoxville, Tennessee, U.S.A.) refers to improvements in refusecollecting vehicles.

The vehicle is provided with a means of lifting bins at the front and emptying them with an overhead action. A swinging frame (1), pivoted at point 2, receives the bin at the front. It can then be swung through the positions shown in chatn lines, to empty the bin through an opening (3) in the top of the body. Hydraulic power for swinging is provided by a ram (4) while another (5) powers the bin tipping mechanism.

As American bins are filled through a door (6), and this is frequently left open, the patent deals with an automatic means of ensuring its closure before it is lifted by means of a contact plate on the door and a bracket on the pick-up forks. Inside the distributor sleeve is a sliding rod having a wedge-shaped annulat groove cut in the end. The inclined edge of the groove acts as the fuel control sc that movement of the rod regulates the quantity of fuel delivered.
