Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

BUTANE is being used widely abroad as a motor fuel to replace petrol. California has large quantities available from cracking plants, and the technique of its use in motor engines is well developed. In Germany mixtures of butane and propane are employed to an estimated extent of 50,000 tons per annum for buses, lorries, etc. In Britain, however, little attention has been paid to the matter, as the quantity available is comparatively small, but Imperial Chemical Industries, Ltd., is not losing sight of possible developments in this direction.

Using Butane and Propane for Vehicle Engines

Trolleybus DewireTWICE in three recent jour

neys by trolleybus In North London a member of our staff has been delayed by dewirernent. On one occasion the pole was so badly bent in consequence that passengers had to be transhipped to the next bus. This necessitated a wait of 15 minutes. Such incidents represent considerable loss to both operator and public. A few years ago we described a trolley device in which the spring was released the moment the pick-up left the overhead conductor, so that no damage resulted. Such an apparatus would improve the present position.

When a Fuse Goes A TIP, which is known to and You Have No rA some but may be of value

Spare to many, is how to proceed if an important fuse blows and there be no replacement. A temporary substitute is to insert the defective fuse with a piece of fell from cigarettes. chocolate, etc. The other day, however, we examined a vehicle after it had been running for some months in the hands of a new owner, and found that three of the fuses had already been so treated. New fuses should, of course, have been inserted as soon as possible alter the temporary repair.

All those of .Fordson make now have an adjustable radiator blind,, and, to gauge the temperature without leaving the seat, it is possible to fit on the radiator top tank; behind the filler, a temperature gauge dearIY Marked to indicate the correct heat.
