Excellent as the Fordson ignition is, it sometimes lofts as a result of the shortcomings of the labourers into whose hands it is entrusted, since it' depends to a large extent,. upon thedelicate adjustment of. its tremblers for its efficiency. In this -respect, therefore, the magneto offers considerable advantages over the Fordson system, and a simple conversion set has been eVelved by Mr. 3. A. Ryley, of 73,' . Weamari Street, Birmingham, -which enables ,the owner of a Fordson tractor to fit magneto ignition if he so desires at a small extra cost.
The component parts of this conversion set consist of a neat and light cast aluminium platform to support the magtide (a B.T.H. magneto), two belts for attaching the platform, one pair of straps for holding the magneto on the platform, two chain sprockets, and a driving chain. If desired, .a.Bowden control' for varying the point of ignition may also be sup.

The chain supplied is' of the requisite length, hut in case of stretching, the platform is slotted to allow adjustment. The price of the completeset as 'specified above is £18,, except for the variable control, which is only supplied to order as an extra at a coat of 22s. 6d.
