A MEILLER single front-end tipping ram operating at a pressure of 3,000 lb. sq. in. is a feature of a Magirus 6 x 6 10 cu. yd. Deutz-engined dumper shown by Sheppard Fabrications Ltd., Barnham, nr. Thetford, Norfolk, at the company's demonstration of equipment earlier this month. The chassis is equipped with a Sheppard all-steel body having a laminated floor with a 11 in. sandwich of kerning hardwood and the chassis was supplied by Magirus-Deutz Concessionaires Ltd. Other features include a six-cylinder, horizontally opposed hydraulic pump with an output of 90 litres per minute at 3,000 lb. sq. in. and a tipping hinge comprising a full-width solid bar of 3f in. diameter mounted between two semi-spherical bushes. A robust, centrally hinged type of stabilizer eliminates stressing of the ram.
