serious students of road passenger transport is out again. I am referring, of course, to Buses Annual 1966, published by Ian Allan Ltd., Terminal House, Shepperton, Middlesex. price 12s, 6d. Fractionally thinner than last year, and containing no coloured illustrations' this time, it is nevertheless a " must " for anyone interested in the subject.

For the second year running there is an article "Whither the bus? ", but this year it is much longer and takes a more serious look into the future and the problems currently facing the bus industry. A. Alan Townsin's now traditional treatise deals this time with pre-war Regents and Regal a, and is as authoritative as ever from that pen.

One suggestion for next year, however. Why not a coloured photograph on the cover? This year's cover is a coloured painting of a rather improbable looking LOndon Transport Atlantean—registered in the West Riding of Yorkshire. But do not let this cover put you off.
