,TT ig being increasingly realized that .1 the mobile showroom can be of great assistance to' those companios which have resources sufficient to enable them to conduct country-wide sales campaigns, and for canvassing small towns and country districts in which it might not be an economic proposition to estab
lish branch offices. These remarks apply with special force to concerns marketing particular classes of household appliance which are comparatively expensive but which are not subject to rapid depreciation.
Electrolux, Ltd, the address of which is 453-455, Regent Street, London, W.1, employs one of these useful vehicles, the basis of which is a Dennis 2i-tou chassis, equipped with pneumatic tyres. The body was built by the chassis maker—Dennis Bros„ Ltd., of Guildford. The vehicle is used in connection with thedemonstrating and selling of Electrolux "motorless refrigerators, water softeners, floor , polishers and vacuum cleaners, ,the last-named being provided with devices which make the cleaner suitable for any job—we stress
this point because of its value for use in connection with passenger-vehicle upholstery apd floor coverings.
Most of the appliances that are carried in the showroom are white, and as the walls are of a light colour, and windows are fitted in the roof, and in the near-side panel as well as in the door, which is close at hand, the interior is assured of an ample supply of natural light.
Access and exit are by a door on the near side, or, alternatively, through the large doors at the back, these being-of
full width. When the tailboard is lowered, quite a large number of people can be accommodated.
It was pointed out to us that this vehicle is not purely a demonstration van, for orders are taken on it. The owner of this interesting van also operates a fleet of Morris-Commercial vehicles with bodies constructed in the form of vacuum cleaners. These machines-were described some time ago in our journal. The Dennis makes journeys to many parts of the country, and is proving a decidedly valuable unit.
