MASKED ROBBERS abducted a driver in the small hours from a Derbyshire truck park before absconding with his load of designer shoes.

His ordeal began on 16 August at 4am between Junctions 28 and 29 of the M1 on the northbound side of Tibshelf Services. The driver was awoken by noises coming from the back of his Daf artic . When he went to investigate four masked men with Liverpudlian accents grabbed him and bundled him into his cab.

The kidnappers drove the victim in his truck to a white van.They forced him inside and took him to Woolston, near Warrington where they dumped him at 10am, shaken but unhurt.

The Daf and its blue curtain-sided trailer

have subsequently been found burnt out in Formby, Merseyside.

DI Glyn Jones of Chesterfield CID wants to hear from any witnesses who were at Tibshelf during the early hours of the morning on 16 August.
