Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Following a phone call from the Road Haulage Association, Commercial Motor would like to clarify a point raised in our feature Time Out" by Adam Bernstein (CM 10-16 August).

The article said that the Working Time Directive, introduced in October 1998, has Imposed a statutory duty on employers to grant 20 days' holiday a year. However, we would like to make it clear that the transport industry is, as yet, not included under the directive. Plans are afoot to extend protection to the transport sector but the terms under which this will be introduced, such as whether to include non-mobile transport workers, are still being thrashed out.

Our apologies for any confusion caused.
