Maidstone was the main target area for truck thieves. But Medway was the area which reported the highest number of LGVs stolen for their loads.

Mercedes-Benz and Iveco Ford trucks were the most popular targets according to a breakdown of the vehicles stolen during the year. Next comes Leyland Daf, Volvo and, perhaps more surprisingly, Redford trucks. This supports Wootton's belief that thieves often :steal old models for essential parts.
