• Paccar Incorporated, the American-owned parent of Foden, posted record earnings for the second quarter of 1995. Worldwide sales for the first half of the year were up 13%, with net profits up 27%.
The company said nearly all its divisions enjoyed improved results, but Foden's figures are not published separately. David Douglas, Foden's managing director, says the company does not report any more of its financial affairs than it has to by law.
"I don't want to get into the habit of reporting and defending figures all the time," he says. We report to the Government on what we are legally obliged to and that's it"
