• Hartlepool transport committee is to reconsider its proposals to increase fares over 2p by a penny to meet an expected deficit of £203,000 in 1974/75.
At a full meeting of Hartlepool Council last week members accepted an amendment that the anticipated debt should be met partly from higher fares and partly from local rates.
Although Hartlepool could make a surplus of £35,000 for the current year, they predict a loss in the next financial year.
