Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Ford and Bedford vehicles, besides conventional Land-Rover and trailer outfits, are to be used in the Automobile Association's new road recovery service to be introduced on October 1.

The AA claims this to be the largest and most comprehensive recovery service in Britain involving a fleet of 86 specially equipped vehicles based at 25 strategic centres.

AA Relay, as it is called, will undertake recovery of a seriously broken down vehicle, together with driver, passengers and luggage to any destination of an AA member's choice on the mainland of Britain. All the new vehicles are additional to the normal 2000 AA patrol fleet strength. Six Bedford J3 chassis, with bodywork by Transtrend of Richmond, and six D • series Fords, with bodywork from Reeve (Coachbuilders) Ltd of Pilsey, Cheshire, are being built, the remainder being LandRovers and trailers. All the vehicles have electric winches for loading the broken down cars. The vehicles will also transport a caravan or boat trailer if the need arises.

The AA Relay fleet will be manned by a force of more than 150 AA patrols but further expansion is planned to meet demand as it grows and already more vehicles are on order. At this stage the service will not be available for accident cases.
