TANKER HEATING TO BE DEMONSTRATED.

THE Isopad system of heating road tankers, described in The Commercial Motor on January 23, will be demonstrated at an exhibition dealing with surface heating by electricity to be held next month.

It is being organized by the Merseyside and North Wales Electricity Board, in conjunction with Isopad, Ltd., and others. It will take place at 83 Paradise Street. Liverpool, from May 20-29. Film shows and lectures on heating methods will be given during the exhibition. • AIR-OPERATED GEAR CONTROL

AN air-operated gear-change control unit has been introduced by the Fuller Mfg. Co., Kalamazoo, Michigan, U.S.A., for use with Roadranger R-96, R-960, RA-96, RA-960, R-63, RA-63, R-630D and RA-630D gearboxes.

A short lever, similar to that employed with semiand fully automatic versions of the British Wilsongearbox, moves air valves which control power cylinders on the gearbox. The manual control for changing between high and low ranges is retained, and the new gear is said to be particularly applicable to tilt-cab chassis.

DRIVER MUST PAY £247 nAMAGES of £247 19s. 4d. were awarded to a solicitor against a lorry driver at Warwick County Court last week. The solicitor, Mr. Roger Bickley, said his car was severely damaged after a collision with a lorry driven by Mr. Frederick Davis.

He claimed that the lorry suddenly began to turn right when he was overtaking and there was no chance to avoid a collision. Mr. Davis denied negligence, saying he was already on the crown of the road when. Mr. Itickley started to overtake.
