Where to Buy your Supplies.

Electric Lighting Accessories.

There is not by any means a large scope, on the modern type of commercial motor, for the use of extremely delicate electrical accessories. There is considerable room, however, for the introduction of certain electrical accessories which can profitably be employed by the driver of a motor delivery van. It follows, also, that on taxicabs and machines sur•li as commercial travellers' broughams, the same remark holds good. The proprietors of the Ever Ready Works, Hercules Place, Holloway, N., have sent to us a small booklet dealing with portable electric pocket lamps, electrically-lighted and driven clocks, and similar supplies, which possess an interest for our readers.

A New Dunlop Depot.

An interesting ceremony took place on Thursday, the 17th inst., when a lunch was given to the Press, at the new solid tire depot and repair works of the Dunlop Rubller Co., Ltd. These works have been opened with the object of meeting, with greater ease, the rapidly increasing demand which exists for the Dunlop solid tires in London and district. The premises are situated in Belsize Road, Kilburn, N.W., and have been reconstructed from one of the old London General Omnibus Co.'s horse stables.

The works are equipped with suitable plant for the rapid and efficient handling and repair of solid tires. A spacious garage, where vehicles of all sizes can he housed, occupies the front part of the building. Adjoining this garage is a tire press shop, in which three hydraulic presses are installed. Close by is the vulcanizing shop, where tires sent in for doctor's treatment are effectively repaired and placed on the road in the shortest possible time.

On the second floor, clean and well-ventilated workshops are devoted to the stripping, buffing and retreading of tires. Here also will be found the stores, in which many thousands of steel-studded tires and inner tubes are carefully housed. It is the intention of the company to carry a sufficiently large stock of solid tires, enough in range and quantity to supply any reasonable demand for tires without any delay whatsoever. A special motorvan will be employed for the purpose of the rapid collection and delivery of the wheels of customers' vans.

The company is to be congratulated on its progressive attitude in opening this new works, which will be a considerable money and time saver to the user in London and the South. It should be noted that this depot is intended to act, not as a substitute, but in addition to the Dunlop depots already established_ in London. When this garage is in full running order, there will be no necessity for the two days delay which is incurred at present in sending wheels to the works at Birmingham.

The most modern type A of machinery for tire repairs has been installed throughout the depot. A complete system of checking the mileages of every Donlon tire in service in the South has been started, and, almost at a glance, it is possible to see the. mileage recorded by each and every individual tire. Looking down this record, we were surprised to note that mileages of between 35,000 and 45,000 were quite common. Sten at Olympia.

While visiting the Building Exhibition at Olympia last week, we spent some considerable time at Stand 27, where the exhibits of W. H. Willcox and Co., Ltd., Southwark Street, S.E., were displayed in the attractive manner which is by now so well known. The Wooiston Rotary gear pumps were much in evidence. Of more particular interest to our readers, however, is the comprehensive range of rubber and armoured suction and delivery hose, which is a prominent feature of this exhibit. The company will forward particulars of the exhibit to any of our readers who apply for them.
