• Patrick McCallan of Esso Petroleum in Belfast has won the 1990 Lorry Driver of the Year competition, held at the Birmingham NEC last weekend. Second place went to Jim Matthews of Sainsbury in Buntingford and third spot went to Michael Blood, who works for the Royal Mail in Derby.
A total of 325 professional drivers reached the LDoY finals after taking part in 20 regional competitions.
