• Mr. Richard Marsh, Minister of Transport. is consulting representative organizations about a proposal to increase the annual vehicle test fee for •: light vans and cars from 15s to £1 5s. • The present fees were fixed in 1960 at the start of the Vehicle Testing • Scheme.

Of the 15s fee 14s is payment to the garage for carrying out the test and a one shilling charge is made by the Ministry for the test certificate.

It is also proposed that in future the test fee will be reviewed at more frequent intervals.
