Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

BASED on a Dodge 144 7-ton chassis with a 141-in. wheelbase, a 6-cu.-yd. tipper has been placed in service on sand and gravel work by Messrs. R. G. Knight, of Maxstoke. Coleshill. Cecil Kay, Ltd., Essex Street, • Birmingham 5, the Dodge distributors for Birmingham and the Midlands, supplied the vehicle.

A Perkins R6 engine transmits power through a five-speed gearbox to an Eaton two-speed rear axle with vacuum control. An average fuelconsumption rate of over 15 m.p.g. has been recorded in service. The availability of 10 forward speeds contributes towards this favourable return.

A Homalloy light-alloy tongued and grooved body, built by Holmes (Preston), Ltd., Addison Road West, Preston, is fitted. This has a weight of about 10 cwt., and the overall unladen weight of the vehicle is 3 tons 18 cwt. The body is 10 ft. 9 in. long by 7 -ft. 3 in. wide and has drop sides of 2 ft. 6 in. A special Edbro triple. telescopic tipping gear is fitted under the body.

Details of the chassis include the use of helper springs, and shock absorbers are fitted at the front. The bumper, grille and windscreen frame are chromium-plated.
