Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE MINIBUS Act 1977 now comes into force on October 22. The Act received Royal Assent on July 22, relaxing the need for all minibuses to be driven by psv drivers only.

It does, however, require all minibuses to be subject to Conditions of Fitness, and Construction and Use Regulations similar to those governing the use of psv.

Minibuses already in use will have a period of five years from October 22 to be made ready to meet these new regulations.

Stage carriage

Regulations have also been laid before Parliament to ensure that stage carriage operators with a minimum fare of 21p will qualify for the fuel duty grant and the New Bus Grant.

The fuel and bus grant regulations are designed to ensure that Government assistance continues to be available for the basic network of local bus services.
