Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

TWO narrower Tiger Cub models have been added to the homemarket range manufactured by Leyland Motors, Ltd. The new vehicles are for 7-ft. 6-in.-wide bodywork and are available with either a constant-mesh gearbox and two-speed axle or PnernoCyclic transmission and single-speed axle.

A home-market Tiger Cubs have a 16-ft. 2-in, wheelbase and a Leyland 350-cu.-in, oil engine. This develops 95 b.h.p. in bus models and 105 b.h.p. when used in coach chassis.

STEAM-HEATED 3,500-GAL. TANKERS

AFLEET of seven Scammell articulated tank vehicles is being added to the units of Hargreaves Motors, Ltd., Marsh Street, Rothwell, Leeds. They are being Acquired to carry fuel oils, under agreement with the Esso Petroleum Co., Ltd., over a wide area in the north of England and North Midlands, supplies being drawn from the Esso refinery at Fawley, Southampton.

The tanks, which have double compartments, are of 3,500-gal capacity and are carried on a semi-trailer having rubber suspension units. To assist in the flow of the fuel oils, the tanks are provided with 3-in.-diameter tubes which will withstand a steam pressure of 150 p.s.i. Insulation in the form of a 1-in, layer of magnesia, covered with aluminium, is used.

1957 LUBRICATION CONFERENCE

ACONFERENCE on lubrication and wear is to be held in London from October 1-3, 1957, under the auspices of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. Papers covering the whole subject are to be read.

Members and non-members of the Institution are invited to send to the secretary at 1 Birdcage Walk, London. S.W.1, synopses of their proposed contributions. These will be reviewed by the council so that the subjects of contributors do not overlap.
