"Taxi! Taxi ! "yelled the pedestrian, and a passing " crawler " drew in to the kerb "lorry, my man; I was only calling my dog," and he pointed to a terrier treasure hunting in the sawdust outside a butcher's shop.
" Oh, that's your dawg's nime, is it 2" growled the cabby. "W' the 'el/ did yer give it 'im?"
"Well, you see," said the other blandly," when I call him he never takes any notice unless it's convenient."
