Adventure novelist and explorer Clive Cussler combines his writing career with diving in mountain lakes for crashed aircraft, exploring deserts in search of lost gold mines and identifying shipwrecks of historic significance. In his 'spare' time, he dotes on his classic car collection.

to his ideas — otherwise his books would not sell," says Anderson. "He can also understand detailed challenges and is able to come up with unique simple solutions. And finally, he is capable of a bit of bulls—t mixed in with fact when required."
