Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

the Transport and General Workers Union (T&G) launches a major offensive to increase road transport workers' wages.

The move follows on from a battle to improve bus workers pay — bus workers in London are taking part in the first industrial action to hit the capital's buses for seven years.

Now the attenton is shifting to workers in haulage, distribution and logistics.

Graham Stevenson, T&G national organiser for transport, says the union intends to make truck and van drivers the main focus for the next stage, which would link the T&G's 'Strategy for Growth' and 'Winning in the Workplace' strategies in 2007.

T&G general secretary Tony Wood Icy has spearheaded the drive to improve the pay, terms and conditions of road transport workers. He says: "The T&G's Busworkers' and Drivers' Charters represent the call to fight back against the long hours and low pay culture across road transport.

"It is an important step in restoring the dignity at work and respect for a professional group of workers who have been undervalued."
