MR. R. C. McWiwast has been appointed Fifeshire transport officer.
MR. J. D. PEARSON and MR. W. T. Gni. have been appointed directors of Sentinel (Shrewsbury), Ltd.
MR. W. J. EDBROOKE, of Chivers and Sons, Ltd., has been nominated to represent the Traders' Road Transport Association on the standing sub-committee on docks of London Chamber of Commerce.
Ma. WILLIAM HrErr has been adopted as prospective Liberal candidate for East Grinstead. Mr. Hyett was commercial director of the road haulage organization of the Ministry of Transport during the war.
MR. R. D. COOKE has been appointed a director of Kennings, Ltd. He has replaced MR. Dnvio B. KENNING as secretary. MR. T. GERMAN succeeds Mr. Cooke as chief accountant. MR. A. B. GRIM fits has also been appointed a director.
MR. CHARLES HARMEL, of Liege Tramways, has been elected president of the International Union of Public Transport, and has been succeeded as vice-president by DR. E. F. LADEMANN. The retiring president is MR. G. IrtnEa, of Brussels Tramways.
MR. B. H. HARBOUR, of the London Transport Executive, will succeed Ma. H. Muscaovr in 1957 as chairman of the Road Operators' Safety Council. The vice-chairmen will be MR. R. W. BIRCH, MR. F. BROOMFIELD, MR. R. A. FEARNLEY, MR. M. A. HOLMES, MR. R. MACKENZIE and MR. A. J. TOWNSEND.

MR. ARTHUR DRURY, manager of the Scunthorpe depot of the Lincolnshire Road Car Co., Ltd., is to retire next month after 35 years in transport.
MR. F. DAVIES has been appointed chief engineer of Manchester and Salford Co-operative Society. He is a member of the C.W.S. motor department.
MR. AREHUR GIUFFITHS has been appointed director and general manager of the Daimler Co., Ltd. He was formerly director and general manager of F. Perkins, Ltd., and before that was with the Ford Motor Co., Ltd.
MR. CHARLES BURGESS has succeeded MR. ARTHUR EDWARDS as chairman of the Leicestershire Sub-area of the National Association of Furniture Warehousemen and Removers. MR. ROY ToramiNs has been elected secretary.
Ma. H. ScHotes, of Joseph Lucas Electrical, Ltd., has been awarded the Schofield travel scholarship for 1956 of the Institution of Production Engineers. The award entitles the recipient to visit a selected European country .for an industrial study visit.
MR. GORDON HEYNES, who recently purchased the whole of the capital of the company, has become chairman of Quicktho (1928), Ltd. MR. P. H. A. BOWMAN has been appointed a director. MR. F. W. BERWICK and COL. B. C. LOCKHART-JERVIS have resigned from the board.
