Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I refer your story about diabetic drivers (CM11-18 April).

I always wanted to drive HGVs and, when I was 21,1 passed my test and started driving four-wheelers. Then I went onto artics on general haulage for the same company, Machins TPT. Later I worked for Christian Salvesen of Spalding, then with ADL, which was taken over by Tibbett & Britten in 1997.

While working for T&B I was taken ill with diabetes and told by my doctor to send my licence to DVLA Swansea. The result was that all groups were taken off my licence except cars. I have tried to get my other groups back and have failed. I cannot even get my Cl back. DVLA has not even got in touch with my doctor.

The job I loved was taken from me. Since October 1997 and I have had regular eye tests and visits to the diabetic clinic. I have never had a hypo or been ill, but no one wants to know. I had been driving 31 years until that day in October 1997.

Please help. Thank you. John Spinks, Wisbech, Cambs.
