WOLVERHAMPTON haulier who admitted operating without a cence since his previous licence had been terminated in May 1979 For the Council, Michael Hadood said the present operating entre was a detached house in ettenhall Road. Mr Grewal had lade a number of court appearnces and he was incurring a ally penalty for its continued nauthorised use.
Mr Crabtree said that in May 978 Mr Grewal had been pro
ibited from operating at Tettenall Road and the licence was )rminated in 1979 when Mr
Grewal refused to comply. But Mr Grewal had then been granted an interim licence at a later stage after two of his vehicles had been stopped.
In evidence, Mr Grewal said that there were now arrangements to park his vehicles in a commercial lorry park. He had been trying to obtain suitable premises for some time, and was presently negotiating the purchase of industrial premises.
Mr Crabtree said that although Mr Grewal had operated without a licence and had continued to use Tettenhall Road despite complaints from residents, it now looked as though there was going to be a satisfactory operating centre.
Extending the interim licence for three months, the LA said-he had had to consider whether someone who carried on operating after his licence had been terminated was fit to hold a licence at all.
At the end of the three months the grant of a full licence would depend on whether Mr Grewal could obtain an approved operating centre.
