Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I wonder how many operators put a maintenance record card or sheet in the cabs of their vehicles, to provide immediate and up to date facts about the vehicle's mechanical history if it needs attention away from base ?

Perhaps these days it's considered an expensive chore to have two sets of records, with risk of discrepancies, too. But the American magazine for operators of small fleets of heavies, 26 Plus, has just brought out an "on-board maintenance card" with

away-from-base situations in mind. It has spaces for routine servicing, component changes and major docking.

I must say it sounds like a good wheeze for long-haul fleets.
