E frequency of winter services

by the Llandudno •,and Colwyn Bay Electric Railway, Ltd., is. to be cut and fares increased, following a series of applications to the North Western Traffic Commissioners -last week (The CommercialMotor, January 24). The company asked for their fares to be brought into line with those of Crosville Motor Services, Ltd., because they were in need of extra revenue.

Mr. J. Edward Jones, for Crosville, said the increases seemed merited. Llandudno Urban District Council, who objected, were not represented, and Mr. F. Williamson, chairman, said the increases Would be granted.

The Electric Railway also asked that their ,summer services, from the first Saturday in July to the second Sunday in September, should have • a basic 10-minute service between Colwyn Bay and . Llandudno. , In winter, the 10-• minute service would be operated. on week-days, but from 7.30 p.m. the frequency would drop to 30 Minutes, which, would be standard on Sundays.

Mr. Ampideft, a director, said the reduction in services would not seriously affect the public, as many buses now carried few passengers. The only inconvenience would be a longer wait betWeen buses.

Mr. Edward Jones, for Crosville, again said he was satisfied, and Colwyn Bay Urban District Council, who sent a letter of objection, were not represented.' Mr, Williamson said it looked as though both councilS were -prepared to leave the matter in his hands, and this, application would also be 'granted.
