Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Selected Information which is likely to be of interest to Makers, Owners, and their Buyers.

An Improved Accumulator.

J. C. Fuller and Sons, Ltd., of Bow, London, E., has recently introduced a new " Block " accumulator, which is claimed to be an improvement over lead batteries. The cell is not suited to heavy discharges for long periods. It has, however, an output from 75 to 100 amp. hours, when run down slowly. Compared with the ordinary battery, a saving in weight of, roughly, 30 per cent, is claimed.

A Useful Motor-bicycle Box Attachment.

In the effort to cope with the demand for a reliable carrier van, Bradbury and Co. Ltd., Wellington Works, Oldham, has placed on the market a new box-carrier for attachment to tradesmen's ordinary motor-bicycles. The frame of this machine is made from weldless steel tube, and the body size is 38 in. by 20 in. by 28 in. A 28 in, wheel is fitted, and the van, complete with lamp bracket, is priced at £10.

Berna Products in Many Climates.

A comprehensive booklet dealing with Berne. heavy vehicles -has reached these offices, and specimens of this firm's products are shown doing their work under varying conditions in many parts of the world. The clear illustrations supplied give one a good idea of the general utility of the commercial motor, and the concern is apparently quite justified when it claims satisfied Berna users in every quarter of the globe.

Argyll Pushes Forward to Business.

With characteristic enterprise, the Argyll concern is devoting its attention to commercial regions which are regarded by some makers as at present hardly within the realm of the present-day commercial motor. A beautifully got up little catalogue reaches us from Alexandria, Glasgow, dealing with the Argyll productions, and glancing through this booklet we were interes1 ed to notice the variety of users who are at present pressing Argyll commercial chassis into service. Light confectionery vans, and heavier models, are in the service of satisfied users. An Altered Tire Guarantee, We understand that the Paraband Tyre an Rubber Co. Ltd., in consequence of the correspondence which has appeared from time to time in the columns of this journal, has altered its form of guarantee with regard to tires. As our correspondents have from time to time pointed out, a vehicleowner purchasing a set of tires which fail to reach their guaranteed minimum, is practically tied, under the usual guarantee, to the company from whom he purchased the tires. In the case of the new Paraband guarantee, a. purchaser whose tires fail to register the guaranteed minimum mileage has the option of a definite cash allowance in lieu of new tires.

A General Utility Carburetter.

The Zenith Carburetter Co., of 17, Harp Lane, London, E.C., calls our attention to their new catalogue illustrating and describing the Zenith specialities. There is no startling departure from the well-known Zenith standard, which has already made a name for itself with users of commercial vehicles. The makers claim that the carburetter is simply and strongly-built, and that there are no flimsy parts likely to get out of order easily. This appliance will supply the engine with gas to run at the lowest speeds. while the maximum power can be obtained without trouble. The throttle is the only control necessary when this device is used.

A special Zenith twin carburetter, for six and eightcylinder engines, has received great attention at the hands of its makers. These " twins " consist really of two separate carburetters, with only one float chamber and one petrol inlet. There are two mixing chambers, however, each containing one jet, and each jet is responsible for three or four cylinders. The firing takes place alternately with each. Several pages of the booklet are devoted to advice on the choice and selection of suitable carburetters for several types of engines. This should be of assistance to van and other owners troubled with insufficient. power or excessive consumption of fuel.
