Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Shropshire hauliers are calling on their colleagues across the country to follow their example and get out into town centres to explain how the industry works and how the government is killing it.

Last week members of the Shropshire & Border Counties Transport Association took two tractive units into the streets of Oswestry; they claim to have had a "very positive response from the public". One of the organisers. Jim Jordan says very few people refused to sign a petition calling on the government to reduce the fuel and vehicle taxes that have been heaped on the industry.

The two groups of hauliers collected a total of 1,800 signatures and received a large amount of local press coverage.
