Before doing so the company contacted the Transport and General Workers' Union and last weekend Mr Alan Law, the commercial trade group secretary, and Mr Brian Mathers, the area secretary of TGWU, went to Arnhem to conclude a wage agreement. The union leaders said that the agreement was identical to the one they had with Containerbase (Birmingham) Ltd, where the men arc paid £1 an hour for a 371-hour week.
