Guide Lights for Private Roads

DIRECTION lamps as a guide for garage entrances and other purposes have recently been designed by Henry Lindsay, Ltd., 47, Queen's Road, Bradford. They are intended to give a clear indication of direction without any illumination of surroundings, the plan being that the lamp exhibits a

white dot towards facing traffic and a red dot on the reverse. Thus, the successive white dots on the driver's left hand indicate his near-side boundary, whilst the red dots on his right show the off-side limit. A well. designed hood prevents illumination being visible from the sides or from above. These guide lamps can be made for electricity, gas, or oil.
