LEGISLATION has started to put pressure on fleets that run pool vans.

According to rental company TES, increased attention to duty of care issues means older vehicles which might have patchy maintenance records are now seen as unsuitable for fleet use.

Marketing director Sean Welham says: "Many light CV operators have habitually kept a few older vans on their fleet for occasional use. But as greater attention is paid to risk management policies thanks to recent government pressure, they are no longer suitable."
