• Fleet Manager is a new service to fleet operators and bodybuilders from paint manufacturer Herberts.
A team of specialists with extensive experience in various industry sectors will advise fleets on vehicle painting. The specialist will create a paint and vehicle washing specification for each fleet which will be held centrally. This spec includes all the substrate preparation details and colour panels which are available to any paintshop the fleet designates. "We don't approve paintshops, says Herberts' Dave Kelly.
The scheme will allow operators to shop around for the best deal. "If we are happy with the paintshops and the painters are trained we will stand by them," he says.
When an operator chooses a paintshop Herberts will provide any necessary training When the job is done the paintshop will fill out a specification control sheet to confirm the spec has been met.
When satisfied with the • paintshop and process Herberts will guarantee the finished paint job against cracking or lack of adhesion: synthetics will be covered for two years and two-pack for three.
