• A pay cut averaging £8,000 per driver has been agreed by 200 drivers at the European industrial gases company Air Products who are transferring to Wincanton Transport.
About 250 drivers were employed by Air Products at an annual salary of £25,000-30,000. When Wincanton takes over deliveries on 4 July, drivers will be paid a transfer fee averaging £18,000 but their pay will drop to around £17,500 or £340 for a 50hour week with no overtirhe at weekends and payments of £30 for Sundays.
