Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The Lane Group has delayed until next summer plans to reduce the guaranteed working hours for half of its drivers from 55 to 50 hours a week.

The company has given the concession to 67 drivers and warehouse staff until May next year. And at a meeting with union staff last Friday (17 June) it agreed to give the 110 drivers and warehouse staff who are working a 50-hour guaranteed week a 1.25% pay increase. The increase will be backdated to 1 May this year. The contract, to deliver products to nearly 400 distributors, is based at Lucas's Fradley, Lichfield warehouse where Swift will operate a dedicated fleet and undertake contract-onsite management.
