(LSP) that specialises in temperature-controlled operations. Frozen and chilled palletised food and drinks account for more than 99% of about 25,000 pallets that pass through its operations each week.
The company operates two main divisions: ChillNet and Regional Distribution Centre (RDC) deliveries.
• ChillNet is the name for Langdons' service that delivers to wholesalers, food service depots and food manufacturing locations, delivering consignments of one or two pallets of frozen or chilled food products on a next-day delivery basis (add another day if you are in Ireland). It runs overnight services with 26 pallet-capability dualtemperature vehicles between Langdon depots in Taunton, Luton, Peterborough, Redditch, Dover, Liverpool and Glasgow, as well as partner depots in Newcastle, Doncaster, May, Northern Ireland, Dublin and Limerick.
• RDC Deliveries run out of the hub in Bridgwater, Somerset, to major retailer RDC's throughout the UK and Ireland on a next-day delivery basis.
In 2004, Langdons became a subsidiary of German chilled and frozen food logistics giant the Nagel Group. As a result, the company can now provide services and storage in 17 countries across the Continent.
