Good drivers and engineers deserve good workwear: it is safer and longer lasting than everyday clothing and an asset to a company profile. By Mike Rutherford

a company director, maring man, or sales executive, a would hardly visit a client in ns and an open neck shirt. ly? Because appearances still matter, if not to yourself, then )thers.

t seems a contradiction, refore, that a smart company n out to make a good impresn with new or established nts would allow them to see Tubby workforce, dressed in :ryday clothes that have seen ter days, be they drivers, fit3 or warehousemen.

he right workwear is not only )ortant from practical and ety angles, but can reflect the It image for a company. Stand uniforms for drivers for innce, can boast their cornny's own logo, thereby ,ertising the company name erever they go.

;ut it does not stop there' rkwear, as well as providing right identity, has to be funclel. There is more to working and protective clothing than boiler suits and donkey jackets.

About 60 per cent of the working garment industry is the rental market where companies provide a complete package (including cleaning), while the other 40 per cent is taken up by direct purchase.

Whether you decide to rent or buy, ask yourself a simple question. If you have just spent £30,000 on a new vehicle, would it not be a good idea to spend say £30 on a smart, functional and protective suit for the man driving it?
