ATEST products from Rocol, Ltd., Swillington, near Leeds, makers of molybdenum disulphide lubricants, are an anti-scuffing spray sold in an aerosol container, and Molyspeed grease for chassis lubrication. The spray is intended to form a hard bonded film of molybdenum disulphide on metal and plastics surfaces, and has been applied to bores and pistons during engine assembly. A container hold; 12 oz. and costs £1 5s. or £1 3s. in quantities of a gross.

The grease can be applied either by pressure or hand guns, is resistant to high temperatures and is water repellent. It can also be used for wheel bearings. Chief advantage of its nse, which in the U.S.A. is stated to have resulted in significant reductions in steering-assembly and suspension wear, is claimed to be that scraping action does not entirely remove the lubricant.

Swiss Micrometer rAA SWISS internal micrometer known as the Tesamaster is available in this country through Matchless Machines, Ltd., 18 Bolton Street, London, W.I. It is claimed to give greater accuracy and quicker readings than those of the conventional type because the graduations on the thimble and body are on the same level.

Its capacity is 0-1 in. and the .price £9 10s. with steel anvils or £10 with carbide anvils.

Synthetic Rubber BESIDES being able to produce components in Prescollan polyurethane rubber by pouring into open moulds, Precision Rubbers, Ltd., Bagworth, Northampton, can now make parts by other processes and have thus extended the applications of the material. These have come to include bearing pads for steering joints, bushes for steering columns, bellows, driving belts, couplings, gears, vibration dampers and seals.

Characteristics of Prescollan are said to be high mechanical strength and good resistance to abrasion. Bars may be machined to required shape.

Nut Kits KITS containing selections of Spire Speed nuts, fixes and clips are being marketed by Simmonds Aerocessories, Ltd., Treforest, Glam, and Stenor, Ltd., Kew Foot Road, Richmond, Surrey, an associated company. Each kit contains 18 types of part, and the composition has been determined after studies of replacement requirements.

Although the kits are sold for 19 different types of car, they may be found applicable to light commercial vehicles corresponding to private-car models.

Safe Tester NTOTING the number of accidents that

occur because of the use of faulty test lamps, Westool, Ltd., St. Helen's Auckland. County Durham, have produced a potential indicator to a high safety standard. Components are resinsealed, and there are no springs or screwed contacts. The indicator itself is a neon lamp, and there is a high-value resistor in each prod which limits current to a value which could not shock the user, should the cable insulation become faulty.

Torque Tightening A MONG the Australian tools now Iri being offered by Repco, Ltd., 59 St. James's Street, London, W.1, in this country are a range of eight torque wrenches each of which may quickly be set to any torque within its range. A wedge-shaped piece is positioned according to the lb./ft. scale, and when the nut has been tightenedto the corresponding amount, a button on an arm (which is caused to move towards the wedge with the increasing effort applied) springs back.

An audible signal is emitted, and a small plunger comes into view. One of the wrenches, which has a capacity of 20-160 lb./ft., is of the reversible-ratchet type. The company also sell the Torq master, an ingenious accessory for attachment to any ordinary spanner by means of which nuts can be tightened to required torque. The distance between the nut and the point of attachment of the device to the spanner, which may vary, is allowed for by three different scales. The Torqmaster's capacity. is 6-200 lb./ft.

Middlesex prefabricated buildings is available from J. E. Lesser and Sons, Ltd., Green Lane, Hounslow, Middx. The buildings have wall panels of plywood, and the plans by which the structures are erected are stated to be particularly suitable for construction camps, when operations can be phased so that accommodation can extend as the labour force reaches its peak.
