MR. R. BURTON has been elected chairman of the East Lancashire branch of the Transport Managers' Club. The president is MR. W. H. BOWKER.
MR. B. JEFFERSON has been appointed manager of Fylde Motor Co., Ltd., kirkham, Lancs. He was previously wholesale commercial-vehicle representative of Rootes, Ltd., Manchester.
MR. W. S. KNIGHT, managing director of Lightalloys, Ltd., is taking six months leave because of ill-health, and MR. K. C. T. MARSHALL, works director, is acting as managing director. LORD Romany has resigned his directorship.
MR. DONALD M. SINCLAIR, C.B.E., general manager of the Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Co., Ltd., is to be president of the Omnibus Society this year. He succeeds MAJOR F. J. CHAPPLE, D.S.O., O.B.E. They both hope to be present at the Society's annual meeting at the Institute of Transport this evening.
MR. W. W. FOSTER, general works manager at Fort Dunlop of the Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd.. is to retire because of ill health, but he will remain available for consultation. He will be succeeded by Ma_ E. E. QUINTON, general works manager at Speke, who in turn Will be replaced by MR. A. T. ROBERTSON, the company's works director in South Africa. MR. C. L. MEDLIOOTT, Birmingham tyre manager, has been appointed West Region sales manager in succession to Ma. H. J. HOLMES, now south of England sales manager. Mr. Medlicott is succeeded by MR. D. TAYLOR, formerly Greenwich district manager, which post has been taken over by MR. F. W. LANGLEY, assistant manager of the national tyre sales division. MR. HUGH FULTON, managing director of Albion Motors, Ltd.' has left for a four-week visit to South Africa.
Miss A. M. KAY, who has been editing "Morris-Commercial Calling" and "Transport Efficiency," publications of the Nuffield Organization, for the past seven years, is to become publicity manager of Kennings, Ltd.

Sr. CLAIR FORBES, formerly assistant manager. MR. H. T. BEARD has been appointed manager of the North Midland branch. He was formerly north-eastern branch assistant manager.
