AT a recent meeting of the Executive Council of the National Conference of Express Cayriers, it was decided that the advice of the Road Haulage (Operations) Advisory Committee should be sought in respect of the participation of " smalls " cartiefs in the Government haulage scheme. It is believed that such carriers will not be affected to any extent, and they should be careful not to create further transport difficulties by withdrawing vehicles from regular services with the

object of entering in the scheme.

In connection with the time limit for claims, it has been decided that members should be permitted to introduce relaxation similar to that allowed by the railways,, but only for the period of the war.
