WELL-KNOWN Northamptonshire haulage firm Knights of Old made steady progress in the year ending 31 May 2005.

Its pre-tax profits were slightly down on 2004 figures. falling to £728,863 front £767,873. Its accounts do not give turnover figures hut they are estimated to be in the region of £10m 'the company says: "Turnover has increased significantly for the third year running, and the directors are pleased with the profitabil ity of the comp.! ay. The directors are confident of further profits in the forthcoming year."

The lirm runs transport. warehousing and freight-forwarding operations from its Kettering base.

It has recently switched its pallet operation from Pall-Ex to rival Palletforce in order to achieve better balance between input and delivery volumes.
