PRE-TAX PROFIT at United Pallet Network (UPN) doubled in the year ending 31 March 2005, with management insist ing growt h is"driven by profit, not by vanity".
UPN. one of the smaller players in the competitive pallet sector, boosted its pre-tax profit from £165.000 to £328,675 as turnover rose from £1.6m to a shade under £2m.
Founder and chairman Manyn Chapman says: "We're financially very strong and we're also well run and efficient. We're developing the network but believe that big isn't always beautiful. We prefer our growth to be controlled."
