Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

BEDFORD Trucks looks set to sell its die making plant in Bedford and save some of the 249 jobs which had been threatened by its planned closure.

It planned to close the plant (CM, January 19) as it had ceased to be cost effective, but negotiations are now at an advanced stage for Camford Engineering, a Stevenage-based general engineering company, to buy the plant.

Bedford is understood to have assured Camford that it will provide a guaranteed volume of work for the plant for which Camford is seeking Department of Trade and Industry cash assistance.
