Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AN APPEAL for an increase in lorry speed limits has come from deputy director general of the Freight Transport Association, Garry Turvey.

He said that speed limits on lorries should be increased from 40 to 50mPh on dual carriageway roads where the general traffic limit was 70mph.

In recent years, limitations on drivers hours had reduced operational efficiency, causing more overnight stops and increases in costs.

Mr Turvey said that while the Government has been powerless to oppose EEC regulations which had caused this they could help to offset the costs by increasing speed limits.
