Another old bus is off for an interesting second life. It is a 14-year-old Bristol doubledecker which has been sold to a wealthy American businessman to transport customers round his vast shopping and restaurant site on Fisherman's Wharf, San Francisco.
The buyer, Leonard Martin, wanted a topless double-decker like those at Westonsuper-Mare but Bristol Omnibus Co. could not part with one of those. Instead they have taken an old double-decker out of retirement, lopped off the roof and moved the stairs to suit American requirements.
