SURVEYING IN COMFORT

A N A.E.C. four-wheel-drive load "learrier, with two trailer caravans, as been supplied through Roura and 7orgas, Ltd., High Holborn, London, W.C.1, for irrigation survey work in igypt. The A.E.C. Matador, an 'a-Service vehicle, has been rebuilt by icottorn, Ltd., New Malden, Surrey, ,nd equipped with a 22-ft. 6-in.-long .11-metal body and a Warner electrical olenoid unit to operate the brakes on he trailers.

This outfit will be used in connection vith irrigation operations of the Upper Egypt Project, the A.E.C. carrying two infield portable 6,25 kW. generators, [riven by oil engines, supplying the railers with light and power. When amoing on a site the canvas tilt will be removed from the lorry to form a tent for the driver and mates, and the vehicle will then be used for carrying oil fuel, water and general stores.

Brockhouse 3-ton trailer chassis are employed with bodies constructed by Coventry Steel Caravans, Ltd. These units are arranged for luxurious office and living quarters for the survey officers and their servants, the sides and roof being of double-skinned construction and having further insulation to maintain a comfortable temperature.

As this unit will be operating in the Western Desert, electrical coolers and refrigerators are included in the appointments.

SPECIALIZED REPAIR SERVICE TRANSPORT engineers of 25 I borough councils, over a period of five days, recently made a tour of the works of Motor Repairers and Spares,
